The Mathematics Preparation bridging microcredential will provide you with a solid foundation for your university maths studies. In addition, you will have the opportunity to get to know other students, as well as the academics you'll be learning from throughout your studies.

Key features

  • Gain foundational skills relevant to first-year math - Get comprehensive preparation for first-year mathematics units by reviewing introductory mathematical concepts.
  • Review your numerical and algebraic skills - Study rearranging and factorising, and how to solve algebraic expressions.
  • Increase your knowledge of functions - Study functional notation, lines, exponentials and logarithms.
  • Learn from world-renowned experts - Interact with teachers in an interactive learning environment.

Who should attend

This bridging microcredential is suitable for students from various mathematical backgrounds intending to enrol in first-year mathematics units who require a review of introductory mathematical concepts.

It’s highly recommended for students who have completed HSC Mathematics Standard – or who have no mathematical experience – and intend to undertake mathematics units such as MATH1000 or economics units at first-year level.

Students intending to enrol in statistics or science units can undertake either this five-day bridging microcredential or the intensive 10-day Mathematics Preparation (Extended) bridging microcredential. Students intending to enrol in MATH1000 should undertake the 10-day bridging microcredential.
